Jorge Gonzalez-Ramirez, Ph.D.

Dr.Ramirez has 35 years experience as a Professor in the study of Methodology of Scientific Investigation and Orientation of Thesis. He received his doctorate in Educational Sciences from the National University of Education, Lima, Peru. Currently he serves as Principal Professor of Pedagogy, Didactics, Methodology of Scientific Investigation, and Investigation of Tribes at the National University of San Martin, Tarapoto, Peru, and National University of the Peruvian Amazonia. He is a renowned Practitioner of Amazonian Shamanism. He studied with over 60 native Amazonian Tribes and has been in practice for 30 years. He is the Founder and Director of the Soncco Wasi International Institute of Amazonian Shamanism Tarapoto, Peru. Here he instructs students from the Philosophy of Amazonian Shamanism, Techniques of Shamanic Healing, Traditional Ceremonies, and Cultivation & Preservation of Traditional Amazonian Plants. He now serves as Chief of the Department of Academic Education, Deacon of the Faculty of Education, President of the University Commission on Statutories, and Head Chief of the Department of University Personnel in Peru. He has been the author and co-author of 3 books regarding education and Shamanism in Peru. A public speaker as well, he has dictated conferences at Stanford University, in Europe, and Africa on Traditional Amazonian Ethno-Medicine.
