Helmut Ziehe, Dippl. Ing. Arch.

Technical University, Berlin, AA School of Architecture, London, in Tropical Architecture. Mr. Ziehe is the President and Chairman of the Board of the International Institute for Bau-biologie and Ecology, Inc., a non-profit organization in Clearwater, Florida. The purpose of the Institute is to inform people about the health hazards that exist in their homes and workplaces, and to train people to detect such hazards and propose solutions to overcome them. The Institute is also engaged in developing new design concepts while stimulating research into non-toxic or low toxic building materials, and systems. Mr. Ziehe has worked and lived in many countries in Europe, North Africa and Central America, and now resides in the United States. He has professional experience in planning hospitals, hotels, housing units for small communities, and small scale industrial development, and acquired his managerial skills by studying business administration and by running his own architectural firm. Bau-biologie has been his focus for the past two decades during which he translated from German to English the Correspondence Course of Professor Anton Schneider. Mr. Ziehe's intention is that the Institute have an ever-increasing impact on our lives by building methods that promote health and minimize adverse reactions in people and the environment.
