Bill Akpinar is the director of the Center for Healing in New York.
He has successfully integrated Eastern and Western Medicine in his
field for over 20 years. Having served as director of two major teaching
hospital-based anesthesiology and pain management programs in the
New York City area, Dr. Bill continues to train medical, dental, and
podiatry residents.
Dr. Bill holds numerous board certifications and fellowships, including acupuncture, pain management, forensic medicine, forensic dentistry, traumatic distress, as well as herbal and Tibetan medicine. Dr. Bill thrives on the use of many non-traditional techniques in combination with his anesthesiology background in the field of headache and TMJ pain disorders, including music therapy (he is an accomplished musician), Chinese Heal Martial Arts, such as Chi Kung (he holds several black belts and practices various “internal” healing martial arts styles), oxygenation therapy, and has been trained by noted Chinese, Indian, Shaolin, Sufi, and Tibetan healing masters in the course of his career (including a mentorship with the Dali Lama’s personal physician, while in Tibet). As medical director of the United States Karate Team, under the direction of his teacher and world Karate champion Terrence “Tokey” Hill, Dr. Bill has had the opportunity to apply his healing skills to the team in his travels with them. his expertise in the holistic health field and offers over 15 years
experience as an alternative health care practitioner of Naturopathic
Medicine. Dr. Smith has coordinated the outstanding curriculum and
design of the programs in the University of Natural Medicine and is
responsible for the recruitment of the faculty for these courses.
He was also the creator, designer and Dean of the College of Natural
Healing Arts and Sciences program and Vice-President at another University. |

Dr. Snyder has been teaching at the university level since 1992 as well as making national and international presentations on a variety of wellness topics. Currently, she is Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs in Counseling and Human Services. Her goal is to support the individual search for meaning and to teach others how to maximize their effectiveness with personal growth as well as influencing the lives of others. Dr. Snyder has been working in the field of holistic medicine and transpersonal psychology since 1976. Dr. Snyder is active in several professional organizations and serves on two Executive Boards of national counseling groups. |

Dr. Turchaninov graduated from Odessa medical School in the Ukraine in 1983 with honors and was selcted for the Kiev Orthopedic Institute for Scientific Research. In 1985 he finished a two-year program at this institute with specialization in trauma surgery and posttraumatic rehabilitation under the supervision of academician, K.S. Ternovoy, M.D. At the same time Dr. Turchaninov began his scientific dissertation "Surgical and Rehabilitation Treatment of Patients with Bone Defects". He obtained his scientific degree in 1989. In 1990 Dr. Turchaninov graduated from the chiropractic and medical massage program designed for medical doctors in the Kiev Orthopedic Institute. He is the author of 20 scientific articles and two patents in the Ukraine. The first Volume of the "Medical Massage" textbook was published in the United States in 1998. In the 2nd Volume he will discuss the treatment of inner organ disorders using the medical massage. |

The Institute is also engaged in developing new design concepts while stimulating research into non-toxic or low toxic building materials, and systems. Mr. Ziehe has worked and lived in many countries in Europe, North Africa and Central America, and now resides in the United States. He has professional experience in planning hospitals, hotels, housing units for small communities, and small scale industrial development, and acquired his managerial skills by studying business administration and by running his own architectural firm. Bau-biologie has been his focus for the past two decades during which he translated from German to English the Correspondence Course of Professor Anton Schneider. Mr. Ziehe's intention is that the Institute have an ever-increasing impact on our lives by building methods that promote health and minimize adverse reactions in people and the environment. |
