Message From The Founder

When I first developed these Natural Medicine programs in 1989 it was with a vision and purpose. This was to create a University that would be one of the foremost educational institutions for Natural Medicine, create training programs that integrate healing practices from all disciplines and cultures, and to provide availability and affordability of education in natural medicine for people around the planet. It is now the year 2003, and I am very happy to say that with the collaborative efforts of our dedicated and committed international network of professors, clinicians/practitioners, board of directors, administration and staff we have fulfilled many of our goals while we continue to grow and expand, offering new programs and worldwide opportunities for education.

The following are some of our many offerings at the University of Natural Medicine.

* A non-profit institution that is fully licensed by the New Mexico Commission on Higher Education as a Private Postsecondary Institution of Higher Learning. The University is also registered in the state of California and recognized in many countries.

* Degree programs including: BS, MS, MA, PhD, NMD, & ND. Incoming credit and advanced placement may only require a student to complete a minimum of 15 credit hours of study for a Bachelors degree and may also apply toward our other degree and diploma offerings.

* The most in-depth and comprehensive programs in integrated and holistic health available today.

* Over 40 diploma/certification programs (Nutrition, Herbology, Homeopathy, Pain Management, Aromatherapy, Ayurveda, Iridology, and many more), that may be taken independently or as part of a degree program. This enables students with the training, credentials and opportunity to implement this knowledge into a healthcare practice immediately while working toward a degree.

* A distinguished faculty of more than 50 professors nationally and multitudes internationally.

* Programs can be entirely independent study by design or may include seminars, practical train- ing, clinical externships, mentorships and/or research. The seminars, practicals and clinical trainings are available at our network of campuses, affiliate clinics and centers worldwide.

* Our in-depth programs may have specific course requirements, but are always individually designed to meet the students needs, goals, vocation and life plan.

* An international network of affiliates, institutions/universities and clinics that offer programs in natural medicine in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Japanese, Hebrew and Malay. We now have affiliate schools in Costa Rica, Brazil, Canada, Japan, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Israel, Portugal, Russia, & the Ukraine.

* An Institutional Review Board to review and validate standards and credibility in research.

* Educational programs and adventures to exotic areas such as the Sacred Valley and Macchu Picchu in Peru; the Amazonian jungles of Brazil and Ecuador; Malaysia; Turkey; Russia, China, Japan, Costa Rica, and the Yucatan.

The University is committed to the freedom of choice in healthcare through holistic health education, research and clinical applications.
