DESCRIPTION
University course that instructs clinicians and health care providers of varying disciplines, in an integrative approach to bio-oxidative therapies that alter body chemistry to prevent and eliminate disease, and, thereby, restore homeostasis.
Course begins May 1, 2006.
BACKGROUND
Oxygen is an essential substance for health and a proven detoxifier for the human body. Called the elixir of life by some experts in the field, oxygen has been touted as the wonder tonic, one which can rejuvenate and heal and, yet, demonstrates toxicity in higher doses. Oxygenation is a term which signifies an increase in the number of oxygen molecules and, thus, the amount of available oxygen in the body. Oxidation, in contrast, is a chemical reaction, whereby, there is an electron transfer from one molecule to another. Oxygen, and its derivatives, are known to cause oxidation and add extra oxygen molecules in the body.
Most known pathogens, or disease-causing agents, are anaerobic. This means they need, and even create, a low-oxygen environment. Cancer cells are among this group. Dr. Otto Warburg, winner of the 1966 Nobel Prize, confirmed a deficiency in oxygen at the cellular level, implicates itself as the primary cause of cancer and that oxygen therapy not only brings cancers under control, but reverses their progression as well.
Free radicals are excessively reactive compounds which form molecular bonds with other compounds. They are an integral component in disease formation. Scientists worldwide, in increasing numbers, recognize that free radical activity involves oxidation of pathogenic by-products of modern lifestyles resulting from radiation, pollution, and internal and external stressors. The appropriate synthesis of lifestyle modification, antioxidants, and addition of oxygenating agents can initiate the bodys innate ability to heal and restore balance when it has become compromised. There is consensus that it is a matter of time before oxygen therapies are regarded as a cornerstone of health care. The growing body of evidence indicates these therapies effect prevention and treatment of illness, which promotes reparation and improvement in the overall function of the body.
Many conditions are treated effectively, world-wide, with oxygenation therapies including, but not limited to: cancers; infections (bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic); neurological, circulatory, and metabolic problems; allergies; AIDS; chronic fatigue; and multiple sclerosis.
This doctorate-level course is the first and, currently, only one in existence to integrate the ever-expanding body of knowledge on various forms of oxygenating therapies. This is in tandem with those now in development and, thus, to be integrated into the curriculum as experts using and refining these therapies provide input to the course on an ongoing basis .
Graduates are provided an unprecedented level of knowledge and experience in the theory and clinical application of the various types of oxygenation therapies. This pioneering course engages health care providers in the opportunity to participate in the future of medicine today!
CANDIDATE SELECTION AND DESIGNATIONS
Selection for this seven-part course is limited to candidates who demonstrate determination, willingness, and wherewithal as participants in a new healing frontier. The first three parts lead to the Masters in Oxygenation Therapies and Integrative Medicine designation, as well as Board certification in Oxygenation Therapies. The remaining four parts consist of a greater degree of clinical emphasis, clinical internship, and original thesis acceptable to the Board. Upon successful completion of the combined Masters/Ph.D. program, candidates receive the Doctorate of Oxygenation Therapies and Integrative Medicine designation.
Those who have advanced degrees may be exempted, in part or full, from the Masters-level courses. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge in fundamentals presented in Parts I - III. A special curriculum will be designed for applicants with advanced degrees who wish to combine the DNM (Doctor of Natural Medicine) with the Doctorate of Integrative Medicine degree, thereby, resulting in a DNM/Ph.D. degree.
COURSE DESCRIPTION NM 530: MASTERS DESIGNATION: PARTS I - III 45 CREDIT HOURS
PART I
Introduction to oxygenation therapies
History and foundations of oxygenation therapy
MAJOR TYPES OF OXYGENATION THERAPIES:
Hyperbaric oxygenation therapy
Ozone therapy
Hydrogen peroxide
ADJUNCTIVES:
QiGong
Yoga
Meditation
Breathwork
Aerobic exercise
Oxygenating nutrition
PART II
Theory and practice of oxygenation therapies, related anatomy, physiology and bio-chemistry
Principles of ultra-violet blood purification (U.V.B.)
Principles of vibrational medicine and relationship to oxygenation therapies
Safety considerations, precautions, and complications
Use of oxygen therapies in conjunction with allopathic and naturopathic treatment protocols
PART III
Involves specific conditions where oxygenation therapies are currently in use and their probable outcomes.
According to the European-based Medical Society for Ozone (European Ozone Association), a number of illnesses are successfully treated with oxygenation therapies. Though the list is extensive, it includes immune system diseases, AIDS, arthritis, allergies, cancer, infections, as well as gastrointestinal, circulatory, neurological, and degenerative diseases. Effectiveness of oxygenation therapies for these illnesses and types of oxygenation therapies best suited to these conditions will be examined.
NM 630: DOCTORATE DESIGNATION: PARTS IV - VII 60 CREDIT HOURS
(PARTS IV-VI: 35 HOURS; PART VI: 25 HOURS)
Covers clinical considerations in the use of oxygenation therapies. Use of oxygenation therapies in medicine, dentistry, and veterinary medicine are reviewed. Applications considered are:
Intravenous and intra-arterial injections
Rectal and vaginal insufflations
Major and minor auto-hemotherapy
Intra-articular injection
Hyperoxyacupuncture techniqueSM originated by Dr. Bill Akpinar
Vibrational frequency-enhanced hyperoxygenation techniqueSM originated by Dr. Bill Akpinar
Hyperoxyodontoacupuncture techniqueSM originated by Dr. Bill Akpinar
Nasal insufflation technique
Ear insufflation technique
Steam cabinet and ozonated hydrotherapy
Bagging
Auto-homologous immunotherapy (AHIT)
Ozonated oil

PART IV
In this section of advanced techniques, Dr. Akpinar introduces a unique series of treatments, protocols, and advanced technologies that use ultra-violet light, harmonized sound, and electrical frequency-enhanced oxygenation technologies developed, refined, and used successfully by him over many years of clinical practice. These tools combine the principles of vibrational medicine, Eastern medicine, and quantum physics and demonstrate a high degree of clinical success. His protocols, as presented by the University of Natural Medicine and adopted by the World Organization of Natural Medicine (www.wonm.org) as practice guidelines, have been established as the global standard of application in the use of oxygenation therapies. This standard is recognized as the means to improve and enhance quality of life for individuals around the world, who rely on complementary health care modalities.
